This guide assists faculty and staff with resources offered by the Macdonald-Kelce Library.

Including materials in Blackboard

Including materials (articles, book chapters, or video) in courseware is not difficult.

  • Linking is copyright safe. 
  • Locate the article, ebook, or video file from the library resources.
  • Create a citation in your preferred format, APA, MLA, etc.
  • Find the Permalink, Persistent link, or Stable URL.

Valid permalink URLs should begin with this proxy phrase.

Use the Record URL, and click the red copy link button. Copy Link

Create a free FOD account to save clips. Then you can make custom links to play a portion of a film.

Adding links in Blackboard

Within Blackboard, paste the citation and add the Permalink.

We recommend pasting the entire citation. (If the link fails, others will have the citation)

Paste and click, Remove Formatting

Blackboard makes DOI's into links. Highlight and select the link and click the Break Link  Break Link to remove

Select the full citation and click the Add Link Add Link  to add the Permalink
