Copyright and Publishing Your Thesis, Dissertation, or Capstone Project: Apply the Workflow

Copyright Workflow Steps

⇒ Apply the Workflow Steps

  • Are you using other people's material (e.g. images, diagrams, quotes, excerpts, etc.) in your dissertation?  This Workflow gets you started with copyright and other legal questions to answer. Remember, your dissertation will be published online in eScholarship, the UC's online repository. So, you must determine whether you need permission to do that from the people who originally created or hold rights to the material you're including. Later, the Workflow covers publishing-related questions as you prepare your dissertation for submission to the Graduate Division.
