WSJ.com Instructor Resources: WSJ.com Tools for Instructors

WSJ.com Access

Macdonald-Kelce Library is proud to announce online access to the Wall Street Journal website. First time signup will require users to create a free WSJ account and select optional preferences. It will walk you through several account questions, but many of these can be skipped.

Once your account is created, future logins will automatically sign you in. You will also be able to download the WSJ app. Access is for the most current 4 years. After creating your account, sign-up for newsletters and alerts here.

WSJ.com Tools for Instructors

The WSJ offers curated content that instructors can use for classroom discussion, assignments and exams.

  • Curated articles in the Weekly Review subscription
    • subscribe by subject (such as Accounting, Finance, Ethics, or Microeconomics) to weekly articles with classroom discussion questions created by specialized faculty WSJ computer page
  • Quiz / Exam questions with the Assessment tool
    • weekly customizable quizzes on WSJ content by subject area (such as Accounting, Finance, etc.) written by faculty contributors which can be taken inside the WSJ portal or downloaded for use in other learning management systems such as Brightspace
  • Discussion questions in Critical Thinking Resources
    • articles with discussion provoking questions created by specialized faculty
  • WSJ Investing Challenge email course 
    • following this lesson plan, WSJ columnists deliver an interactive five-week email course covering the basics of stock investing which can supplement classroom instruction
