Macdonald-Kelce Librarian Elizabeth Lee Barron's family has a rich history in the Florida citrus industry boom. Before endless housing development and general sprawl filled the region, the greater Tampa Bay area was awash with orange groves. A recent Tampa Bay Times article tells Elizabeth's story of collecting dozens of citrus shipping labels made for her great-grandfather's companies. These labels feature illustrations of her family members: her father as a baby, her aunts, and even the old family dog.
