Watch this brief video about the library's new website

Below is an excerpt from the Introduction to Library Research presentation about the library's new website. It is on the VidGrid platform, so should be watchable if you are logged into MyUTampa. Let us know if it doesn't work.

Key takeaways:

  • Esearch is no longer the way to log into the library's services. We are now connected with MyUTampa. If you are logged into MyUTampa, you will have access to the library's databases and be able to read the library's collection of ebooks.
  • Most pages have a chat function. Librarians are available through chat much of the time the library is open.
  • Our new meta-search engine, Summon, searches across most (but, not all) of our database collection. It has a citation function, can provide a stable URL, and will export to RefWorks. Use the facets to focus your search results.
  • The catalog is still available. On the old page it was titled Online Catalog. On this page, you'll find it in the middle, titled UTOPIA Catalog.
  • Our A-Z database list has a new look. You'll find links to the databases in the middle of the page. Once there you can sort by subject.

This is still a work in progress! So, please let us know how we can make it better. And, let us know if you see any errors or mistakes, so we can get them corrected quickly.
