Children's and young adult literature collected at the Macdonald-Kelce Library at UTampa

Introduction

The Macdonald-Kelce Library has a collection of children’s and young adult literature to support the Education Department curriculum. Numerous children’s and young adult book award winners are located in the MAIN (2ND FLOOR) and Curriculum Room locations in the library. Most of the materials are shelved in the Library of Congress classification at: PZ 7 to PZ 10.3.

Nonfiction children’s and young adult literature are housed in the Curriculum Room located on the second floor of the library by Media Services. They are shelved by Library of Congress classification.

Any PZ call numbers in the Curriculum Room are Big Books and due to their size are in special shelving there.

To gain access to the Curriculum room a key can be checked out at the Circulation Desk.

Juvenile fiction or Juvenile literature

When searching for a particular award book using juvenile and the name of the award you are looking for should pull up a list of the books the Macdonald-Kelce Library owns in this area.

Example: juvenile and Belpre

This search query will result in the Pura Belpre award and honor books

Example: juvenile and coretta

This search will result in the Coretta Scott King award and honor books
