This guide will get you started on your research in education.

FTCE

  •  General Knowledge Test (GK): All candidates must take and pass all sections of this exam in order to be accepted into UTampa’s Department of Education.  
  •     Professional Education (PED), Florida Teacher Certification Exam (FTCE): All candidates must pass the professional education exam to become a certified teacher. This examination is usually taken during a student’s junior year in either EDU 312 or 354. Students must pass to continue in the program.
  •     Subject Area (SAEs), Florida Teacher Certification Exam (FTCE): The Subject Area Exams (SAEs) are described as competencies and skills exams by the Florida Department of Education. There are currently more than 40 different FTCE SAEs, and UTampa students sit for the FTCE: Subject Area Exam (SAE) in Practicum III(3). Elementary, 6-12 majors and PE K-12 majors must take and pass the exam this semester as well.
