Using Specific Databases

Remember that most databases search across disciplines. Pay attention to the names of the journals in your search results and chose articles suitable for your discipline.

Multimedia encyclopedia encompassing all major scientific disciplines.
Humanities and Social Science Index Retrospective This link opens in a new window
Provides citation-level access to English-language articles (1907-1984). Coverage includes a wide range of interdisciplinary fields covered in a broad array of humanities and social sciences journals.

Scholarly journals, ebooks, primary sources, and ebooks in the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and business.
Science (Gale OneFile) This link opens in a new window
Contains the latest scientific developments in particle physics, advanced mathematics, nanotechnology, geology, and hundreds of other areas.
Key subjects covered include the biological sciences, computing, engineering, and technology.

Peer-reviewed, full-text scholarly articles, books and book chapters on scientific, technical, and medical literature.
Topics include chemical engineering, chemistry, computer science, earth and planetary sciences, energy, engineering, materials sciences, mathematics, physics, and astronomy.
