Using Google Scholar

You can use Google Scholar to search the library's database collection (though we recommend starting with Spartan Search).

Spartan Search will lead to many academic sources however, like Google Scholar it will miss many great sources. For the best in-depth graduate-level searching, use the database related to your area of interest. Consider using Google Scholar as a supplementary tool if you are not finding what you want.

Google Scholar's "cited by" function is much more robust than the "cited by" function found in most databases and may be a useful tool for tracking down more scholarship.

Keep in mind that Google Scholar defines scholarship much more broadly than most professors. Check with your professor or a librarian if you are uncertain about an article you are interested in using. Below are instructions on how adjust the settings in your browser so Google Scholar knows you are affiliated with The University of Tampa.
