Library of Congress Subject Headings: Library of Congress subjects are how books and articles are catalogued (tagged) when you search the databases. Use these terms along with your specified topic when doing a search.

These are just a few suggestions out of many. Use the country name if you are researching "Cuba" instead of all Latin America. Search specific people, events in history, battles, laws, and theories in order to strengthen your search.
