Spartan Search: New Catalog and Discovery Migration

  • Online training materials available for new interfaces.
  • Updates presented to Faculty Senate and College Orientations.
• 30th August
  • Drop-in training session for staff and faculty in library room AV2 at 10am.
• 5th September
  • Drop-in introduction to the Macdonald-Kelce's new library search platform at Advanced Digital Literacy Center (ADLC) at 11am.
• 7th September
  • Drop-in training session for staff and faculty in library room AV2 at 2pm.
• 15th September
  • Drop-in introduction to the Macdonald-Kelce's new library search platform at Advanced Digital Literacy Center (ADLC) at 1pm.

As The Macdonald-Kelce Library transitions to this new system, additional information and updates will be added to this page as the project progresses.

• 16 August
  • Spartan Search, our new Integrated Library System (ILS) go-live date.
  • Library links (that used Spartan Search permalink) to book and ebook catalog records in Canvas courses and on research guides will need to be updated.
  • New and improved access to:
    • Journal Search
    • Library Catalog
    • New Interlibrary Loan Form
    • Your personal Library Account now available online
    • Improved Digital Archives system
  • Permalinks to old discovery system (Spartan Search) will no longer work, please contact your subject librarian if you have trouble locating any material.
• 11 - 15 August
  • The library will be on downtime circulation procedures. This means we will be manually processing items. Please contact library directly to renew materials.
  • Search and Checkout of library materials will be unchanged but during these dates item availability listed in the catalog may not be current. Please call or stop by the Circulation desk.
  • Individual databases will not be impacted.
• 1 June - 15 August
  • No new items will be added to the library catalog until migration is completed on 16 August. If you have an item for your class that needs to be added to reserves, please see our Course Reserves page for contact information and information on adding items to reserves.
• 7 August
  • Prevew Spartan Search starting 7 August.
    • Try out the system, but please note this is just a preview. Not all features will be available. 
• 28 July
  • Final day to add, delete or modify course reserves. After 28 July, all course reserves changes will need to wait until after 16 August. 
• 14 June 
  • Library Closed
  • The library will close all day on 14 June for library training sessions
