Chronicle Online

The Chronicle provides news, advice columns, and job listings dating back to 1989, with a focus on the world of academia.

New York Times

The Macdonald-Kelce Library provides UT students, faculty, and staff with an Pass, which gives you complimentary access to and NYT apps.*

New Account

To claim your pass, start by creating a free account using this link. Make sure to sign into MyUTampa beforehand.

Existing Account

NYT Registration (Existing Users):

  1. Log out of NYT on all applicable devices
  2. Go to
  3. Log into the campus proxy network
  4. On the NYT registration page, click on "Already have an account? Log in here" (image below)
  5. Input existing NYT login credentials
  6. Click Log In (you should now see a confirmation email for 364 days)

* Does not include e-reader editions, Premium Crosswords or The New York Times Crosswords apps. NYTimes apps are not supported on all devices. Access to archived articles within the date range 1923-1980 is limited. You must have a valid email address from a participating organization. Other restrictions may apply.

Tampa Bay Times

Access the Tampa Bay Times (previously known as The St Petersburg Times), full text from 1987-present, and full page image views of the print edition, from 2018-present in Access World News (link below). Also includes web edition articles and blog posts.

You can also find articles from the Tampa Tribune, 1990-2016 here.

To find other image editions go to “A-Z Source List on the top left toolbar and then sort by format (image).

Wall Street Journal

To access the WSJ online: (Jan 2, 1984 - present)

OR follow these steps from the library homepage:

  • From the library homepage, select 'Search' and then 'Journal Search.'
  • Search for 'Wall Street Journal.'
  • You will see a few options. Make sure to select 'The Wall Street journal. Eastern edition.'

Note: The WSJ online is text only; no images.

To access the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) in print:

  • The most recent issues of the WSJ are located in the corner of the library first floor by the computer lab on the backside of a narrow shelf, along with other print newspapers.*
  • If you have trouble finding them, just ask us at the Reference Desk; we are happy to help.

*Due to COVID-19, all incoming mail is quarantined for 3 days. If you need the most recent issues, please inquire at the Reference Desk.

The Financial Times (London)

The Financial Times is embargoed for 30 days in all databases. Please note that the Newsbank information below is incorrect; the library has access from 01/02/1982 - to 1 month ago.
