Newspaper and Magazine Collections

The Macdonald-Kelce Library subscribes to the print edition of The Tampa Bay Times, which you can find in our first floor reading room.

We also subscribe to several online newspaper and magazines collections, both current day and historical. There are several ways to find what you need:

• Browse Spartan Search and limit your results to Resource Type "Newspaper Articles" or "Magazine Articles"
• Search the newspaper databases and magazine archives
• Locate newspapers and magazines in the Journal Search

Found an article online, but don't have access to it?

Many times, articles we find online require a subscription. Before you pay for an article, CHECK THE LIBRARY! More often than not, we have access to the article, or we can track down a copy for you through interlibrary loan.

How to locate the article:

1. Oftentimes, a newspaper or magazine article might have a slightly (or completely!) different title than the online version. Try typing (or copy and paste) the title into our Spartan Search. If it doesn't come up, try some of the key words and the author (if there is one).

2. If that doesn't work, check the coverage for the newspaper or magazine by going to Journal Search and then look for the closest corresponding date and go through the table of contents or articles.

3. And If that doesn't work, please contact the library! Although sometimes an article might be only available through an individual online subscription, many times we can help you find what you need through other sources.
