Why connect the library to PubMed? Otherwise you have to pay to access articles the library provides! Save yourself time and money by connecting the library to PubMed.
The quickest way to access PubMed and connect to the Macdonald-Kelce Library resources is to use the library link, Note you MUST use the link below. If you just Google PubMed or access using another link it will not connect you to the library resources at UTampa.

Connecting to PubMed using this link will show the University of Tampa icons. You will be able to click on the icon to see if the items are available in the library or request them through interlibrary loan.
See below for the icon that will appear. When you click on the icon, you may be prompted to log into your University of Tampa account (Okta/SAML, which is your student or faculty login).
A PubMed or "MyNCBI" account allows you to save searches, save items, and set up preferences including connecting to the Macdonald-Kelce Library resources.

3. Find the best option for you to create an account, and then complete your account creation.
Once you have your account set up, you need to modify your preferences to connect to the University of Tampa's Macdonald-Kelce Library resources following the steps below.
4. Click on your account in the top right.
5. Select "Dashboard" from the drop down menu.
6. On the Dashboard, you can see your saved searches, recent search history, etc. Select "NCBI Site Preferences" from the top right.
The Preference page will allow you to set your account settings. You can set several items, but for now we will focus on connecting to the library resources.
7. Click on "Outside Tool"
8. This will open a page where you can search for "University of Tampa." When you find it, check it off. Your account is now connected to the "University of Tampa" Macdonald-Kelce Library resources.
You can connect to any library where you have privileges to access their resources. Please note, just selecting a library does not mean you will automatically be able to access their resources. You MUST have an account with that organization. You only have to connect to your organizations one time, and then it is set for the life of your account or until you change it.
