Sometimes it's best to start is with the broadest search engines.
Use Spartan Search to search everything in the library's collection.
Use Google Scholar to search a broader range of scholarship, some of which may not be in the library's collection (but is available through interlibrary loan). (Using Google Scholar effectively.) Primarily good for articles, can be good for books, especially if you're doing a deep dive.

One of the most comprehensive databases available online. Provides access to full-text journals across a wide range of subject areas, including business, education, literature, political science, and psychology.
Authoritative bibliographic database for sociology research. It offers millions of indexed records from top sociology journals covering many studies including gender studies, criminal justice ...
Use Google Scholar for a broader search.
If you find an article or book, not in full-text, request it from another library.
